Ed Sheeran and Prince Harry are shooting a joint clip

2019-10-10T15:11:21.112Z

Musicians Ed Sheeran and Prince Harry recorded a video together. Her short film should draw attention to an important problem.

Trim the beard again, after all, even as a superstar you do not visit the royals every day. Prince Harry contacted him to "film a thing," Ed Sheeran describes at the beginning of the short clip he shared with Instagram on Thursday with the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Duchess Meghan. He admires Harry for a long time, so Sheeran - "from afar". So now he's on his way to a personal meeting.

As the musician presses the doorbell, a few notes of the British national anthem "God Save the Queen" are heard first. Then the prince opens the door. You sit down and get down to business quickly: About the subject, says Harry, is just not enough talk. "People all over the world are suffering." Sheeran agrees with him, he even works on a song. People would not know what life is like for us.

But no "Gingers United"

The whole thing turns out quickly as a misunderstanding, as played, of course. While Sheeran talks about the redheads' suffering in the film, the jokes and the mockery they face, Harry is concerned with something completely different: October 10 is the International Mental Health Day, and they want to draw attention together.

Sheeran hasten to emphasize that he certainly knew that - and secretly erases from his computer the preparation for the defense of the redhead ("Gingers United"). At the end of the clip both speak into the camera. Whether friends or strangers - "look after anyone who may suffer in silence," prompts Prince Harry. "This matters to all of us."

Harry had a therapy after the accidental death of his mother, Princess Diana, and later reported publicly. He and his brother William have long been committed to destigmatizing mental illness.

Where the clip was shot is not clear. Harry and Meghan live in Frogmore Cottage, a family home in the park of Windsor Castle, and are particularly concerned about their privacy since the birth of their son Archie.

The Mental Health Day has been celebrated since October 10th. He goes back to an initiative of the NGO World Federation for Mental Health. The main thing is to get more attention for the topic and those affected. This year's focus is on promoting mental health and preventing suicide.
