After the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman by five children and adolescents in Mülheim an der Ruhr, the prosecution has indicted three juvenile suspects in the Duisburg district court. One of the three defendants - a remanded 14-year-old - was also charged with another rape. This was announced by a spokeswoman for the Duisburg prosecutor.
The Duisburg district court will decide on the opening of the main proceedings against the three young people. At the time of the alleged act in early July, three of the five suspects were 14 years old. The other two were only twelve years old and thus punishable by punishment.
The alleged rape in the Ruhr city had made headlines nationwide. She also sparked a debate about lowering the age of child criminality.
