The publisher Hendrik teNeues is dead. The 67-year-old died on Wednesday in Munich, teNeues Media GmbH announced in Kempen on the lower Rhine on Friday.
Born in Krefeld, he founded the US subsidiary of the family business founded in 1931. Since the nineties he has been managing the publishing house of Kempen together with his brother Sebastian. He specializes in photobooks and mainly publishes books on design, fashion, cars, art, architecture and cooking.
From 2002 to 2004, teNeues was married to actress and presenter Caroline Beil, and from 2006 to 2014, his relationship with Stephanie von Pfuel, which became known as the "Coffee Countess" for a commercial, was featured in tabloid media.
Due to health problems, teNeues has increasingly withdrawn from operational business for some time, the statement said. He has increasingly relocated his center of life to Munich in recent years.
