The transmitter NOS According to the 58-year-old lived with his six children in a cellar of the court in the village Ruinerwold. Whether he held on to the children against their will and what the background could be, is not yet known.

"He said he had run away"

According to police, the innkeeper at a nearby pub had dialed the emergency call on Monday after a confused young man had contacted him. The 25-year-old said he had not been out for nine years, the landlord told TV channel RTV Drenthe. "He said he ran away and needed help."
