Suspected isolated living group in the Netherlands: investigators arrest second suspect

A 67-year-old has been arrested in the alleged criminal case in Ruinerwold in the Netherlands. It is supposed to be the father of six young people who apparently lived in isolation on a farm with him.



There was a second arrest in the case of a suspected isolated family on a farm in Ruinerwold in the Netherlands. According to Drenthe police, the 67-year-old suspect is allegedly the father of the other persons. He is accused, according to a statement, inter alia, deprivation of liberty and money laundering.

Previously, a 58-year-old Austrian had already been arrested after a young man had contacted a landlord. According to him, he and his relatives lived in isolation for nine years in a farmhouse room. Tenant of the farm is the 58-year-old. The exact relationships of those affected are still unclear.
