Two discounters in Bremen have been attacked by strangers with a hatchet. The investigators are now checking whether the two cases are related. That is what the police said.
On Saturday night, two masked persons threatened a 27-year-old female employee and her 22-year-old colleague with a hatchet and a knife in a supermarket. The perpetrators had pushed both employees into the office and stashed cash from a safe in a backpack. The 22-year-old got a punch in the stomach.
The robbers escaped through a rear exit. The employees described the perpetrators as about 1.65 meters tall and between 20 and 25 years old.
About 45 minutes later, according to police, an equally masked offender in another district demanded cash from a 32-year-old cashier and struck the conveyor belt several times with the hatchet. His booty had put the approximately 1.80 meter tall man in a sports bag, before he had fled. According to the police, the cashier was shocked that an ambulance had been called for her.
