Nikolaus Blome leaves "Bild" newspaper

Since 2011, Nikolaus Blome has been a member of the editorial board of the "Bild" newspaper. For personal reasons, he now leaves the medium. A successor will be announced shortly.



The head of politics and deputy editor-in-chief of the "Bild" newspaper, Nikolaus Blome, has announced his withdrawal. The media company Axel Springer confirmed that Blome had announced the end of his work in the editorial office. Previously, industry services had reported about it.

Blome wants to take a different approach for personal reasons, he is quoted on the group intranet. He went "at his own request and by mutual agreement to 31. October 2019". The successor to the management of the political ministry will be announced shortly.

In 2011, Blome was first deputy editor of the newspaper. Between 2013 and 2015 he worked for SPIEGEL as head of the Berlin office and member of the editorial board. He then returned to the "Bild" newspaper.
