The homicide trial against a suspected cult boss has begun in Hanau district court. She should be responsible for the painful death of a four-year-old boy.
She is accused of killing the boy in 1988. The 72-year-old is said to have confined the child, who is said to have been in her care, in a burlap sack, filed in the bathroom and have left him despite panic screams.
According to the prosecution, the woman is said to have regarded the boy as "possessed by the dark". That's why she decided to kill him. The boy had died after a "fierce death struggle", he probably smothered.
The prosecution sees the murderous trait of cruelty fulfilled. In addition, the defendant acted for low motives. The defendant's defender had always denied the charge of murder.
The case was reopened in spring 2015 because of new statements by former members of the sect. According to the "Frankfurter Rundschau", the sect is supposed to be a group that gathered the accused together with her deceased husband. The members had their life over decades apparently completely aligned to the specifications of the woman.
