Former US President Jimmy Carter suffered a pelvic fracture. He had come to a hospital, informed the Carter Center founded by him. The 95-year-old was in good spirits. He was happy to be allowed to return home soon to regain his strength, it said.

Carter crashed at his home in Plains, Georgia. It is a pelvic fracture of a low severity.

Former US President Jimmy Carter had a case yesterday at his home in Plains, Ga. He has been admitted to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center for observation and treatment of a minor pelvic fracture. He is in good spirits and looking forward to recovering at home.

Carter crashed once in early October, according to the Carter Center, and had to be sewn above the eyebrow. In May, Carter had broken his hip in a fall at home. He wanted to start a turkey hunt at the time.

The Democrat Carter was president of the USA from 1977 to 1981. After the end of his term Carter is committed to democracy, human rights and peaceful conflict resolution worldwide. For this he received the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize.
