The broken pane of a glass door has caused a stir in the Bavarian community of Moosthenning. A sibling couple had reported to his father that a black-clad man with a balaclava had invaded the apartment. When the burglar pushed the ten-year-old boy head first into the glass door in the living room, the door was broken, according to police reports.
The boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries to his head and chest. The worried father informed the police. Since the siblings confirmed their story to the officials, several police patrols began on Tuesday afternoon to search for the unknown. Only when the investigators noticed inconsistencies in the closer examination of the eight-year-old girl, the boy admitted to having invented the story.
In truth, he had stumbled through the glass door while playing with his sister, he said.
At that time, the fabric of lies in the form of an "armed madman" attacking children had already made the rounds in the net. The police therefore asks to broadcast such events in the social networks, "if they are definitely from secure sources or from the police," it says in a Facebook post on the case.
