Wuppertal: "Loverboys" convicted of forced prostitution for imprisonment

In the so-called Loverboy process, the verdicts have fallen. Three men were sentenced to several years in prison. They are said to have driven partially underage women into prostitution.



The Wuppertal district court sentenced three men on Tuesday for severe forced prostitution. The oldest defendant, a 31-year-old, has to go to prison for six and a half years. According to a court spokesman, the two youngsters received youth penalties: a 17-year-old is to be imprisoned for two years and nine months and his 22-year-old co-defendant for five years.

The two main perpetrators have the court according to seven young women aged 14 to 22 years with love stifles initially driven into a dependency relationship and then the prostitution.

Their activity was closely monitored, and if the orders were not complied with, the 31-year-old defendant should have resorted to violence and beat the women. The victims had prescribed working hours and had to give their entire earnings. The three men were accused of pimping as well as dangerous bodily harm and serious robbery.

Prostitution took place in various hotels in North Rhine-Westphalia as well as in rented private apartments in Wuppertal. When a landlord noticed that prostitution was practiced in his apartment, he alerted the police - the trio flew open.
