The Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk apparently wants to reconsider its cooperation with the cabaret artist Uwe Steimle. In the ARD institute the Saxon Komiker is controversial because of politically controversial statements for a long time. In his program "Steimles Welt" he spread slanderous rumors about refugees, in his stage program he compared the extreme right-wing terrorist cell "Revolution Chemnitz" with the Olsen Gang.
Now there are increasing indications in Leipzig that point to an early end of his MDR performances. Opposite the SPIEGEL announces the program direction: "The editors are currently in the field of cabaret and satire reorganize content." Already last year MDR director Karola Wille Steimle called for moderation in a personal conversation. "A limit is exceeded when someone puts us in the vicinity of state television," said Wille the SPIEGEL.

In an interview with the weekly newspaper "Junge Freiheit", Steimle had described Germany as an "occupied country" and denied a state-wide broadcast. Last June, Steimle was photographed with a "Kraft durch Freunde" shirt - an allusion to the National Socialist leisure organization.
