In India, a two-year-old boy has fallen into a 180-meter deep hole. He could only be recovered dead.

For four days, a two-year-old boy was in a deep hole in Tamil Nadu State, India. In the morning, the child had been recovered dead, said the head of the responsible civil protection.

The two-year-old is said to have played with friends near his family's home in the Tiruchirappalli district when he fell into the unused water hole. The child had initially stuck at a depth of about ten meters and later fell to a depth of 26 meters in the approximately 180 meters deep hole.

Attempts to rescue the boy with a rope failed. As a result, the Catastrophe Protection attempted to drill a one meter wide tunnel next to the hole.

In India, there are always accidents in which children fall into boreholes. In the past 15 years, at least ten children in the state of Tamil Nadu have died in this way, reports "India Today". Reason are too lax security measures. Many holes would not be closed.

In Europe, the case of two-year-old Julen in Spain had caused a stir in January. The two-year-old was found dead after nearly two weeks. The fate of the child from the southern Spanish province of Málaga had been followed with great sympathy by millions of people.
