For years she worked as a medical assistant in a clinic in Fritzlar - apparently without a license. Now the 48-year-old is in custody because she is said to have caused the deaths of four patients.

Because of several deaths in a hospital, a suspected false doctor has been arrested in Hesse. "Due to faulty anesthesia she is said to have caused the death of the patient in four cases. In eight other cases, health damage should have occurred," said a spokesman for the prosecutor Kassel.

The woman worked from 2015 to 2018 as a medical assistant in a clinic in the northern Hessian Fritzlar - according to investigators without medical approval. It is said to have made mistakes in the treatment and to have given patients wrong medication.

First, against the 48-year-old was only determined because she is said to have applied with fake documents in the clinic. However, during a search in January, the authorities reportedly found further evidence.

Prosecutors and police are now investigating, inter alia, on suspicion of manslaughter, dangerous personal injury, document falsification, fraud and abuse of titles.

Since Tuesday, the woman is in custody. There were searches in several states: In addition to the clinic in Hesse, the private rooms of the woman were searched, the last one lived in Kiel.

In addition, jobs were searched by two physicians in Hesse and in Brandenburg. It was examined whether the physicians working in the clinic at that time violated their duty to supervise by continuing to work the woman as an anesthesiologist despite inadequate performance.
