At 165 km / h, a young man raced through Stuttgart in March and caused a fatal accident. Prosecutors and survivors are now demanding a murder conviction.

In the process of a car accident with two dead in Stuttgart, the prosecutor's office has demanded a multi-year juvenile penalty for the accused. The 21-year-old is said to be sentenced to six years in prison for murder.

The defendant allegedly lost control of his rental car one evening in March and rammed a small car by car. He is accused of having accelerated his rented sports car up to 165 km / h before the crash (read more about the case here).

In the rubble of the small car, a 25-year-old driver from North Rhine-Westphalia and his 22-year-old friend had died. The sports car driver and his passenger remained unhurt. The case led to the first murder charge after a Raser accident in Baden-Württemberg.

Lifelong for murder?

Two of the three co-plaintiffs - the parents of the two victims and a brother - joined the prosecutor's office largely and pleaded six or eight years juvenile penalty for murder. The third lawyer, however, demanded a life sentence because the driver was to be convicted as an adult.

In October, the defendant admitted his own misconduct in court. "Because of me, two people have died, there is nothing to gloss over," Mert T. read in a personal statement read by his lawyer. "I also know that it's far too easy just to say I'm sorry."

The pleadings had been held in private before the district court. The defense wants to argue next Monday, the verdict is to follow on 15 November.
