Gandalf actor Ian McKellen does not want to deal with Brexit anymore. "The other day I thought, 'If I'm long dead, they will still not have a Brexit deal,'" said 80-year-old Briton PA news agency.
"That's why I'll have no opinion," said the actor known as Lord of the Rings. He considered the discussion about Britain's exit from the European Union as a game of chess, in which the players have no idea about the figures. "I was emotionally out of the debate emotionally."
From November 28 on, McKellen will star in German cinemas alongside Helen Mirren, 74, in the movie "The Good Liar". In it he plays an aged con artist and marriage swindler.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had announced that he would lead the country out of the EU on 31 October - "come what may." He would rather lie "dead in the ditch" instead of requesting an extension of the withdrawal period.
But he could not bring his EU-negotiated Brexit deal through Parliament in time. So in the end he had no choice but to reluctantly send a request for extension to Brussels. The Brexit period has been extended by up to three months. It was already the third shift.
The EU exit is now to take place on 31 January at the latest. But it is also more likely if ratification of the exit agreement succeeds first. Johnson said he feared another Brexit delay if the Labor opposition came to power in the early parliamentary elections on December 12th.
