In Leipzig, hoodlums have attacked an employee of a real estate company in their apartment. It is not the first attack on the construction industry in the city.

The employee of a real estate company was attacked and injured in her apartment in Leipzig by two hoodlums. Allegedly left-wing extremists would have the 34-year-olds in the act on Sunday evening punches offset, said the State Office of Criminal Investigation. The attackers fled.

The real estate company is currently building a house with expensive condominiums in the alternative district of Connewitz. On a left-wing internet site, a text appeared, which represents the encroachment as resistance to the construction project.

In Leipzig, arson attacks on construction sites had been carried out several times in recent weeks. Among other things, several cranes of a construction site were lit on the day of German reunification.

Lord Mayor sees border crossed

In the now-publicized advocate text on the attack on the woman, it is said that the builders must be clear "that they participate in an attack on a space of the radical left, and that this attack will be answered".

The police suspect because of the article a left-wing extremist background. As reported by the station MDR, citing the police, the perpetrators are said to have left the apartment with the words: "Greetings from Connewitz."

Leipzig Mayor Burkhard Jung condemned the act. A limit was exceeded. "The myth spread by the extreme left-wing scene, that one is violent only against things and state institutions, but not against persons, is unmasked as what it always was: a lie," said the SPD politician. The rule of law must also prevail against left-wing violence.
