Women in the Western world are becoming mothers. Some people then have to help nature with artificial insemination. Katie Holmes went another way. Daughter Suri gave birth to the actress already in her relatively young age of 27 years - and the Hollywood star is happy about the time. And her career also continued.
"I was happy to become a mother in my twenties," she said in a conversation with the British edition of Elle magazine. She had felt that her age was always well matched to that of the child. She is likely to have been late even at home: Holmes is the youngest of a total of five siblings.
"40 will be okay too"
"Every age my child was in matched up well with the age I was in," Holmes said. "We grew up together, so to speak." She does a lot with Suri. In the spring, both even visited the refugee camp Moria on the Greek island of Lesbos - as ambassadors for a charitable organization.

Katie Holmes starts at 40: "I still do everything"Even otherwise, the now 40-year-old Holmes seems to make little difference in her age. At first she was working hard, doing one movie after the other. "Having reached the 40 is interesting, because when you're young, you think 'I'll never turn 40!'," Said the Dawson's Creek star. "But when the day comes, it's okay, I still do everything I've always done."

Holmes was married to Tom Cruise until 2012, from whom she divorced after five years of marriage. Daughter Suri carries his last name. One reason for the breakup was Tom Cruise's commitment to Scientology - and the sect's influence on the common child.
