Use of special command: Police investigates "suspicious incident" at the Amsterdam airport

At Schiphol Airport, the Dutch border police moved in with a large crowd. There was a "suspicious situation" in an airplane, the police tweeted. Details were initially unclear.



The Dutch Border Police reported a "suspicious situation" in an airplane at Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport, which is currently under investigation. On Twitter, the police said Wednesday evening:

Details remained unclear at first. According to the Dutch news agency ANP, the airport administration spoke of a "serious situation that could have a major impact on the population".

According to other media reports, rescue services are disengaged. The Dutch television station NOS reports that a part of the airport has been vacated. Cars with darkened windows had driven to the gate D5.

According to information from the "Algemeen Dagblad" is a heavily armed special police commando on site. Two rescue helicopters are on the way. According to "Algemeen Dagblad" the affected aircraft should fly to 19.00 clock to Madrid. It is about a plane of the Spanish company Air Europa.
