A photomontage caused trouble: In the satire show "heute-show" the image of a Heilbronn police spokesman was used. Now the official has accepted an apology from ZDF.

After an unauthorized photomontage of the "heute-show" police and ZDF have settled their dispute. In the satire show the picture was shown, on which one can see how a Heilbronn police spokesman lights a joint.

The ZDF had reported to him and apologized, said the police spokesman now. That was the thing for him done. He had after the broadcast first informed that he was considering legal action against the ZDF.

The station had on Friday evening a satire report on the legalization of cannabis with the photomontage illustrated. The Mainz broadcaster admitted on its homepage: "We have failed to obtain the consent of the police spokesman shown in the picture."

According to the ZDF, the image served in the oversized photomontage only as a symbolic photo. "It was taken from a photo database." It was not about degrading the work of the police or even a specific person.

The Baden-Württemberg Minister of the Interior Thomas Strobl (CDU) had demanded as the highest employer of the Heilbronn officials such clarification and apology of the sender. "We accept the apology," he said now. "Wherever you work, sometimes a mistake happens."
