Anyone who likes to read and read aloud to their child is often astonished or disappointed when they can not read the book themselves at reading age. "My wish is that my daughter experiences the magic of reading," a friend recently told me. She was at a loss: "We always read a lot together?"
Surely the daughter will have nice memories of reading lessons, but there are several reasons why some later do not read so much on their own. For a very simple reason: Not all people can read equally well. There are also many convenient entertainment alternatives today, such as YouTube or the Netflix subscription. Even messages can be read aloud. Why work hard?
It can also be tiredness or a busy schedule that prevents the child from reading.
When the technology time is up and a "I'm bored!" through the apartment, this may be the opportunity to offer one of the following titles. It was important to me to make sure that the books are not too thick, so that you have a sense of achievement, and many pictures support the text. Today on offer: a loving donkey, a slanted Finn and a book in which the letters disappear.
The exuberant ABC
With this letter-puzzle book you can help the love of the word on the jumps. On each double-sided Hidden Object there are weird things and characters to discover, all of which are related to a missing letter. Can we find everyone? (Pssst, ... at the end are the solutions.) A book almost like a game that you can look at age-spanning, because the searched words are different difficult and the pictures anyway funny.
What's going on here? The illustrator Ina Hattenhauer has turned the classic ABC primer upside down: Instead of learning a new letter, the children have to leave out a letter and think about which word will come out.
Best Reading Time: All together on the sofa.

Pekka's secret records
Ja-ha, another boys' diary, of which there are innumerable aftermath since Greg. But this one is from Finland. From a boy hanging his swimming trunks in the microwave for drying. There where Mama's lunch is cooking. Where is the problem? I like the handy format and the huge, cool illustrations that need a lot of space. As a result, the texts do not have to be long.
What's going on here? Pekka, a somewhat lazy thinker, tells in a laconic tone of his everyday life, which is never very commonplace. Sometimes he thinks that an Emu moves in with him, sometimes his dog disappears with a pirate. My favorite band is "The Lost Samurai Sword", in which he goes to Japan with his uncle Remu. I want your life, Pekka!
Best time to read: After school.
Recommended age : from 8 years.

Ariol. Where is Petula?
Sure, that comics offer themselves for reading fist - Donald Duck finally reads everyone, right? "Where is Petula?" is my favorite band in the French comic series with Ariol, the donkey. The stories are full of wit, because they describe the everyday life of a child, but everything happens in the animal world. Beautiful is also the little touch of France, which lies above the action. A great change in addition to all the American stories that otherwise frolicking in the children's book.
What's going on here? When Ariol is invited home to his beloved Petula (a cow), he is in luck. He does not suspect what dangers lurk when you visit a girl. And then there's her father, the bull.
Best time to read: When in love.
Recommended age : from 6 years.
