The police have found in the case of the attack on a money courier in Frankfurt the escape car of the offender. It is a nearby parked, burned-out vehicle, said a spokesman.
Saturday morning there had been an exchange of fire in front of an Ikea branch. According to police, the 56-year-old Geldbote just left the furniture store in Nieder-Eschbach with a cash box. A man had attacked him, after a short rant the attacker took the cash box.
As a result, there had been an exchange of fire between the messenger and the attacker, in the course of which the messenger had been seriously injured. The man was in mortal danger, the police gave no information about his current condition. A spokesman said only that the man had been operated on the leg.
"High degree of planning"
The perpetrator was able to flee with the money. He was wearing a white hoodie and black tracksuit pants, according to the police.
Perhaps the act is attributable to an internationally operating gang, reported the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung", citing investigators. The procedure therefore indicates "a high degree of planning, which one knows in this form only from the professional acting gang criminality".
