The legal dispute between Justice victim Gustl Mollath and Bayern is over. It had agreed amicably, said the district court Munich I with. The Free State pays the 63-year-old thus "without recognition of a legal obligation" 600,000 euros.
Mollath was admitted to the psychiatric ward in 2006 for alleged violence against his wife - wrongly, as was revealed years later in a retrial. So far, he had received 70,000 euros from the Free State of Bavaria.
The legal dispute ended with Mollath's acquittal in the 2014 retrial. In March, a lawsuit began in Munich for damages and compensation from official liability. Mollath had demanded a total of 1.8 million euros from the Free State of Bavaria.
