2019-11-13T16:35:04.743Z

Duchess Meghan feels persecuted by tabloid media, many prominent women solidarize with her. Now, Hillary Clinton also joins in with her compatriot - with clear words.

The journalists of British tabloid media and Duchess Meghan will certainly no longer be friends. Since the 38-year-old had made public under the reenactments of obtrusive reporters to suffer greatly, the role of the so-called yellow press is a perennial issue in the UK.

Now, the Duchess also receives assistance from a prominent compatriot: Former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton awarded Meghan her support. Clinton said to radio station BBC Radio 5 Live: "I want to hug her and tell her, 'Hang on and do not let the bad guys stop you.'"

Clinton criticized the media for their racist coverage of Meghan, which also has African-American roots. What some media are likely to spread, is wrong and tear her heart, said the 72-year-old. Meghan, who is married to Prince Harry, is a magical young woman: "She falls in love, he falls in love with her, everyone should celebrate it because it's a clear love story."

Hillary Clinton and Duchess Meghan: The Solidarization

By the end of October, 72 women MPs had joined forces across party lines and sharply criticized British media's dealings with the Duchess of Sussex. In an open letter, the politicians expressed their solidarity and condemned the "often tasteless and misleading" coverage of some media.

Such behavior "should not be unchallenged," the letter says. The politicians praised Duchess Meghan for "taking a stand" - and announce that they are doing everything in their power to ensure that the media respects the Duchess's right to privacy. Among other things, the letter was signed by Labor Party politicians, conservatives and liberals.

A few weeks earlier it had become known that the Duchess is legally against the newspaper "Mail on Sunday" proceeds. Prince Harry also complains against two British publishers because their newspapers are said to have illegally intercepted mailbox messages from him. In a TV documentary, the couple was recently shocked by the practices of an overarching tabloid press.
