A drunk 20-year-old has rammed a patrol car in Hanover while fleeing from the police with an e-scooter. According to the officials, the young man was apparently due to alcohol no longer able to slow down his vehicle "despite sufficient distance" in front of the car standing cross of the emergency services. There was no talk of any injuries.
According to police, the 20-year-old had previously tried to flee with an electric scooter in front of the patrol, which wanted to control him. He had noticed the officers at night as he drove in red over a traffic light. Calls to stop he ignored the information. Attempts to stop and control him initially failed.
Eventually, the task forces parked their vehicle across the pedestrian and bicycle lanes to stop it. The young man drove against the rear side door. He now has to face a road traffic hazard. His driver's license was also confiscated. A breath alcohol test gave 2.1 per mill.
