A 49-year-old has been seriously injured in a deflagration in his car in Baden-Württemberg. Cause was leaked gas from a nursing spray can with 400 milliliters of content, as a police spokesman in Freiburg said.
It ignited as the man lit a cigarette while driving off. He had just bought the so-called cockpit spray for the car in Waldshut-Tiengen and used it in the parking lot of a hardware store. Then he put the can according to the information in the trunk - the nozzle was apparently not properly closed and the gas spread in the car.
Slices burst
The 49-year-old jumped out of the rolling car. He was taken to a clinic with severe burn injuries. As a result of the deflagration, the car's windscreen flew several meters across the parking lot - and directly over a human.
The other disks burst loudly police. The doors and roof of the car bulged outward. Flying splinters damaged other cars.
