Gelsenkirchen: student feigned syringe attack according to police

2019-11-15T15:49:53.839Z

The syringe attack of Gelsenkirchen has apparently been invented by the alleged victim. A forensic scientist came to the conclusion that the 13-year-old had inflicted the injuries themselves.

After the alleged attack with a syringe on a student in Gelsenkirchen, the police now assume that the adolescent has faked the incident. "The appraiser has found in the investigations that the 13-year-old has inflicted the injuries themselves," the police said in the afternoon.

Even the blood test carried out by the forensic physician was without findings, it was said. Currently, the teenager is being interviewed again. About the possible motive so far nothing was known.

The student had stated that she had been threatened on a street by a man with a knife on Thursday morning. In a parking lot he should then have given her an unknown substance with a syringe. In accent-free German he is said to have said "number six" and then fled. A local resident took her to a nearby hospital.

The police had left no doubt in the morning that she believed the descriptions of the young people to be credible. A commission of inquiry had begun work. Because of the alleged statement of the man, the police have the concern that there were other victims or could give.
