A snack was at the attack in Halle to the scene. Now, the previous owner wants the shop to make a fresh start - and gives it to the employees who experienced the attack.

Five weeks after the right-wing extremist attack in Halle, the kebab snack was reopened, in which the assassin shot dead a young man. At the same time, the previous operator gave the store to the two employees who worked there during the attack.

Izzet Cagac handed over a gift and assignment agreement to his employees. The two brothers were in the shop when a right-wing extremist shot dead a man there on 9 October. "I wish my successors much strength to handle the terrible event of 09.10.2019 and many customers of different cultures and religions," it says in the letter of the old owner.

Back in October, shopkeeper Cagac told MDR about his donation plans. At that time, he said he hopes the extra responsibility will help his staff to process what happened. At that time, according to Cagac, it was unclear whether the two employees wanted the store at all.

"The boys do not have to worry, they can start immediately in one of my other stores if they want, we never let them hang," the entrepreneur told MDR in October. The report said the two employees concerned were being cared for by emergency counseling and victim assistance.

As an alternative to the donation, Cagac had spoken of it in October, set up in the store a prayer room that was open to all religions and in which people can come together.

Just over five weeks ago, a heavily armed man tried to massacre on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur at the Halle Synagogue. He failed at a locked door and shot in front of the church a random passing woman and shortly thereafter a man in the nearby Dönerladen.

The perpetrator was arrested and admitted an anti-Semitic and right-wing motive.
