In a heavy traffic accident in Wilhelmshaven two people were killed and another seriously injured in the night of Sunday. Police reported that a few minutes after midnight, an Opel and a BMW crashed head-on. The Opel had come into skidding and then got into oncoming traffic.
Both inmates of the Opel, a 23-year-old woman and an equally old man, died accordingly still at the accident site. According to a spokesman for the police Wilhelmshaven, the two were thrown out of their vehicle.
The driver of the BMW was seriously injured, but according to police spokesman was still responsive and could drop an emergency call. He had been taken to hospital and was not in mortal danger.
The reasons why the Opel started to skid, has yet to be determined. The vehicle wrecks were secured by the police.
