The Swedish tennis legend Björn Borg moves into warmer climes - at least temporarily. The 63-year-old and his wife Patricia have bought a house on Cape Verde off the African west coast, as the Swedish newspaper "Aftonbladet" reported.
"Here you can be yourself, and the climate is a little better than in Sweden," said Patricia Borg, who celebrated her 50th birthday on Sunday, the newspaper. They planned to spend at least the time during the cold winter months there. The couple has already vacationed a number of times in the Atlantic island state.
The Borgs had offered their villa in Ingarö near Stockholm in late summer for sale because it had become too big for them. Now, apart from the house on Cape Verde, the couple should have bought an apartment in Stockholm.
Björn Borg won in his career a total of eleven Grand Slam titles, including from 1976 to 1980 five times in a row the tournament in Wimbledon. The Swede has been in the world tennis rankings for more than a hundred weeks.
