Three children have fished several ammunition and bullets from the Second World War from a pond in the Thuringian district of Gotha. The children had kept a strong magnet in the pond in the district of Wölfis and were shocked by their find, the police said.
When they became aware of what was hanging on the hook on Saturday's incident, the children would have dialed the distress call. People were not hurt. Officials then locked the location in Ohrdruf near Gotha. The ammunition recovery service was called.
Fund munitions should be left on the spot and the police should be alerted, the officials said. They strongly warned against such leisure activities.
