A 20-year-old man walked across the highway in Saxony-Anhalt and was killed in an accident. A 61-year-old captured the pedestrian near Irxleben on Sunday evening on the A2 with his van, as this crossed the road at the height of a rest area, as the police in Magdeburg announced.
As a result of the impact, the young man was thrown onto the left-hand lane and overrun by two other vehicles. The 20-year-old died at the scene of the accident. All other accident victims remained unhurt. Why the man walked on the highway is unclear. The highway in the direction of Hanover was completely closed for about three hours.
