Berlin: man stabs Fritz von Weizsäcker at lecture in private clinic

The son of former Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker has been killed. The chief physician at the time of the act he held a lecture in a Berlin clinic.

The incident took place at around 6.50 pm in the private Schlosspark Clinic near the Charlottenburg Palace. Weizsäcker held a lecture on fatty liver at the time.

According to a police spokeswoman, he is said to have been suddenly attacked by a man. Another man from the auditorium was said to have intervened and been seriously injured. Weizsäcker died on the spot. The suspect was arrested and a homicide commission investigated. Experts investigated the crime scene.
