The man who stabbed the physician Fritz von Weizsäcker on Tuesday evening has called a motive for his act during his police interrogation. The SPIEGEL learned from investigation circles. According to the 57-year-old from Andernach in Rhineland-Palatinate, he had deliberately killed the doctor to take revenge on the family von Weizsäcker. A spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor's office neither wanted to confirm nor deny this.
