Sarah Connor: "Just a mom of four kids going to work"

Airs and graces? In Sarah Connor's nil. The pop star clearly positions herself in her roles between children and career. Now the 39-year-old was awarded.

One of Sarah Connor's most successful albums is called "mother tongue". The 2015 released record was her first album in German. But with her mother tongue, the 39-year-old could have had something else in mind: the balancing act between her motherhood and her presence as a pop star.

At the Bambi Awards in Baden-Baden, the singer has now found clear words for how she sees herself above all: "You'd think I'm a pop star, but actually I'm just the mom of four children, who goes to work" said Connor.

How difficult it can be to get everything under one hat, Connor revealed in the spring in an interview with the SPIEGEL. "Besides my role as a mother, I also have my own cosmos and I am happy, even if I shudder after exhausting days because everything is too much for me, that's part of it," she said. It was important that her children knew that she loved her.

On the evening of the Bambi Awards, these worries may have been far away. The singer performed her art and was awarded one of the trophies in the Music National category.

Maybe the prize is also a piece of satisfaction for her for another reason: her song "Vincent" about a gay woman who does not get an erection when thinking of women, caused quite a sensation recently, and some radio stations censored the piece. She confessed to critics at the award ceremony with a rainbow-colored flag that she wore like a scarf.
