The comedy "The Perfect Secret" by director and screenwriter Bora Dagtekin is the most successful German feature film of the year so far. This was announced by the distributor Constantin Film. According to this, over three million people have watched the movie in the cinema three weeks after its release. He was at the same time in fourth place of all most visited films in 2019.
"The Perfect Secret" is about a dinner among friends, where all mobile phones are placed on the table and every call, text or image message is taken collectively.
The criticism of the movie
The film is a remake of the Italian movie "Perfetti Sconosciutu" by Paolo Genovese from 2016. It is set with a German star ensemble: Elyas M'Barek, Florian David Fitz, Jella Haase, Karoline Herfurth, Frederick Lau, Wotan Wilke Möhring and Jessica Schwarz reveal each other the contents of their smartphones.
At the Bambi Awards, "The Perfect Mystery" received the award in the "National Film" category. Director Dagtekin and producer Lena Schömann were already responsible for the successful trilogy "Fack ju Göhte".
