Anselm Pahnke is never stuck in a traffic jam. Speed Limits hardly tie him down, and he does not have to go to the TÜV. Because cars do not play a big role in his life - at most as a danger in traffic.
With his bike Anselm has traveled through 73 countries, and in everyday life he uses only in exceptional cases other means of transport. He sees himself as a life artist. Even if the effort gets bigger, he gives up the car. "Well, I've actually moved with my bike, which I've done for weeks, certainly 50, 60 times," he says.
Not only in everyday life, even when traveling, the bicycle is his favorite means of transportation. "I think only on foot you would have more conversations, you're really close," says Anselm. Closer to the environment, people and spontaneous decisions. And pedaling on the side has a practical benefit: "I have always produced my own electricity while traveling." For example, Anselm can listen to music while driving - via the box on his handlebars. Of course, there are plenty of good reasons to ride the bike - and leave the car alone.
But how do you get through the winter by bike? How even to the other end of the world? And what should you take with you on a longer bike ride in any case?
