2019-11-25T16:32:03.845Z

Evasions and blackouts - after his fatal TV interview British media now report that Prince Andrew will soon be questioned by the FBI. An open question: what did he really fix with Jeffrey Epstein in New York in 2010?

After his disastrous TV interview Prince Andrew is still in trouble: The British tabloid "The Sun" claims to have spent four days in 2010 with Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sex offenses two years earlier.

The purpose of the visit was to ensure that the entrepreneur did not have incriminating evidence against the member of the British royal family.

The sheet refers to an ex-girlfriend of the Duke. Prince Andrew "put up with Epstein" when he visited him in his New York home, the woman reportedly told. It was rumored that at parties were hidden in bedrooms and toilets cameras. Epstein had denied the question "categorically" at that time.

"If it had been different, Andrew would not have hesitated to end the friendship on the phone, he does it all the time."

"Tendency to be honorable"

The Duke of York had stated in an interview with Emily Maitlis that he regretted the friendship with Epstein, but the consequences had attacked his mental health. His misjudgment of the connection was probably due to his "tendency to be honorable".

After a crisis meeting with Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Andrew had resigned from all public office and duties to avert further damage from the monarchy. He also had to vacate his private office at Buckingham Palace. This was reported by the British newspaper "The Guardian". Allegedly, he is said to have terminated his private secretary Amanda Thirsk at the urging of the family. Thirsk is considered the driving force behind the BBC interview.

Will the FBI question Prince Andrew?

In August, US financial lawyer Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in the detention center. He and his alleged accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, 57, allegedly committed themselves to the prostitution of minors, trafficking and sexual abuse.

Also according to the Sun, Prince Andrew is said to have invited this Ghislaine Maxwell, 57, to Buckingham Palace in June this year. He himself admitted in the BBC interview that last had contact with her in the spring.

Virginia Roberts, who was allegedly forced to prostitute by Epstein, claims to have been forced to sex with the Royal several times. Andrew vehemently rejects that

According to the BBC, the FBI wants to question Prince Andrew about his connections with Epstein. In the near future, the British broadcaster will also be broadcasting an interview with one of the alleged victims. Virginia Giuffre, formerly Roberts, said she had flown from Epstein to Britain in 2001 and was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew.

The case has international dimensions. Although Andrew had announced that he would "help all competent investigative authorities" - if necessary. Lawyer Lisa Bloom already hinted that she could try to force Andrews to testify. If he refuses, this could put a strain on British-US diplomatic relations, she told the BBC, adding, "I hope it does not come to that."
