Learn the alphabet with the help of Eminem, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg - with this idea "The Little Homie" sells an ABC primer. But one of the hip-hop greats does not agree with the use of his name: The US rapper Jay-Z has sued an Australian children's book dealer therefore. This is reported by the newspaper "The Age".
According to the newspaper, the children's book is titled "AB to Jay-Z" and is available on the dealer's website. On the spine of the book is a quote from Jay-Z's hit "99 Problems" - but in the adult version modified version: "If you're having alphabet problems I feel bad for you son, I have 99 problems but my ABCs is not one. "
In addition, the 49-year-old accuses the small online retailer to have used his image and his name unsolicited in the book. The lawyers of the hip-hop star, who is known by the real name Shawn Carter, are said to have filed a lawsuit on Friday in a federal court for copyright infringement.
According to the indictment, Jay-Z had already demanded a sell stop in 2018. The online retailer, however, "knowingly and willingly" resold the books, the newspaper's lawyers said. They argued that the use of the name, text, and photo would "hurt the artist's reputation and brand value."
The Little Homie has not commented on the allegations. The Australian lawyers of the rapper did not comment on the lawsuit.
