For almost 50 years there is "The mission with the mouse" on television. Now, the popular children's program gets an audio offshoot - but the mouse will not speak here either.

The television show "Broadcast with the mouse" soon has its first appearance on the radio. The first contributions for the new "The broadcast with the mouse to the hearing" are produced and were presented on Tuesday in Cologne by the WDR. The program starts on December 1, among other things as a digital radio channel and with several podcasts.

A mix of well-known stories of laughter and stories, reports, comedy, music and children's issues is planned - such as the riddle of why socks disappear when washing.

However, the mouse has still not learned to speak for her radio debut. She continues to limit herself to her meaningful body sounds - such as the iconic eyelashes. "The mouse can also be cheerful, it can also be sad, it can be thoughtful, it can be exciting, it can be a lot - it can also run around the studio," explained host Nina Heuser, who along with presenter André Gatzke the program will lead. Mouse, elephant and duck are their co-moderators, so to speak.

In recent years, audio offerings have become increasingly popular, said Tobias Gehle, deputy head of wave at WDR5. For example, there are many new podcasts. Therefore, one considered, with which offer one could score oneself best. It ended up with the mouse, which has been on TV since 1971.

"The broadcast with the mouse to listen" is broadcast as digital radio, but also on Sunday morning via WDR5 via VHF. In addition, the offers are available online.
