Report of the National Quality Index Program: Weight gain in Israel continues • Despite efforts: No smoking rate decline

Clalit has more patients whose cholesterol levels are balanced, the highest rate of cervical cancer patients and most of the adults have been vaccinated against the flu, according to the National Quality Measures Program report, which summarizes the quality of hospital care in 2018 .

The program is led by the National Institutes of Health Policy Research, and the report includes dozens of metrics that reflect the quality of hospital care in areas such as antibiotic use, diabetes, asthma and cardiovascular disease. The data are published only within a limited comparison of health funds.

The report shows that more than half of the adult population (about 62% of men and 55% of women aged 64-20) are overweight and obese. This year, a continuing increase in obesity rates has been noted. About a quarter of women in Israel (25.1%) have obesity Over, an increase compared to 2013 (23.7%). 22.3% of men are obese, slightly higher than in 2013 (21.7%).

The report emphasizes the proportion of subjects in early detection of cancer. Less vaccines

Cervical cancer: There has been a slight increase in early detection rates in 2018, but only half of women (51.5%) aged 54-35 have performed a survey in the last 3 years. This year we saw a slight improvement in the proportion of subjects compared to 49.9% in 2017. The proportion of women who do not perform the test is higher in a low socio-economic population (55.4%) compared to a high socio-economic class (23.1%). Compared to the world, the proportion of women who perform the test in Israel is still low. In Sweden, 82.4% of women performed the test, in Luxembourg 76% and in Slovenia 72%. According to the World Health Organization, the incidence of cervical cancer in Israel is relatively low, but the cancer mortality rate is not low.

In Maccabi Health Services, the highest proportion (64%), then unified (48.3%), general health services (47.1%) and the lowest national rate (43.6%).

Last year, the eligibility to perform the test was extended so that women aged 30 to 35 can perform it free of charge. This year, an application was made to extend the eligibility to women aged 25 to 30.

Regarding breast cancer screening tests, it was found that in 2018, a mammogram record was recorded and 73.3% of women aged 74-50 were tested. This figure continues a steady upward trend every year.

The figures indicate a decrease in influenza vaccines. In 2018, only 60.4% of those aged 65 and over were vaccinated for influenza, in 2017 61% were vaccinated and in 2016 - 63.1%. The highest rates of vaccination are in the National Health Fund (71.5%), followed by the list, General Health Services (61.4%), United (56.1%) and Maccabi (55.4%).

19.14% of the population in Israel is 74-16 smokers. In recent years, various measures have been taken, such as the ban on smoking in public places, easing the criteria for withdrawal drugs and Health Ministry campaigns, but no change in smoking rates. In 2018, we smoked 27% of men and 12.2% of women (rates almost the same as last year).

Men of low socioeconomic status smoke twice as much as men of high socioeconomic status. In contrast, no such relationship was found among women.
