Bottle opener, Christmas tree decorations and a mouse pad: On Amazon gift articles, the photographs of the former Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau show, provided at the memorial for indignation.
"Selling 'Christbaum-Schmuck' with pictures of Auschwitz does not seem appropriate," the museum said on Sunday. "Auschwitz on a bottle opener is disturbing and disrespectful."

After the criticism, the US online retailer has now drawn conclusions. The memorial cited an Amazon spokeswoman, according to which all offered objects were removed. These would have violated Amazon's guidelines.
