He is considered a hip-hopper with status consciousness. His latest record should continue to contribute: Drake is the most streamed musician of the decade at Spotify. Also in the German annual charts rappers are ahead.

The rapper Drake was the most heard artist of the outgoing decade in the streaming service Spotify. 28 billion times the songs of the 33-year-old musician were played on the streaming platform, announces the Swedish company. With his latest album "Scorpion" last year, he reached one billion streams in the first week alone. Ed Sheeran finished second, according to the Spotify message. This is followed by Post Malone, Ariana Grande and Eminem.

The British folk pop musician Ed Sheeran had the lead in the most streamed songs of the decade. His song "Shape of You" was played 2.3 billion times - and more often than "One Dance" by Drake, Kyla and WizKid.

Spotify also released the international annual charts for 2019. The world's most-listened to artists this year is the American rapper and singer Post Malone. Second place went to Billie Eilish, followed by Ariana Grande. 17-year-old Billie Eilish delivered with her debut "When we fall asleep, where do we go?" also the world's most successful album of the year on Spotify. The most frequently streamed song worldwide was the summer hit "Señorita" by Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes.

In Germany, rap is still hip. Berlin's Capital Bra came in first, followed by Samra and RAF Camora. With "CB6", Capital Bra also reaches the top of the year's top albums. The most streamed song in Germany is "Roller" by the Ludwigshafen-based musician Apache 207. Here you will find an overview of the favorites of Spotify users in Germany.
