Christmas: Belluno lights up the color to celebrate Christmas

2019-12-05T15:59:04.785Z

Piazza Martiri and the historic center of Belluno dress in lights and colors for Christmas. This year almost 200 lanterns flood the central square of the city with light. As well as the adjacent streets and squares. The struscio is among markets, crafts, art, tastes, fi ges for the little ones, ice skating, in a rich and captivating program that will last over a month, up to the Epiphany. Thirty-eight days of magic and Christmas spirit, with a pinch of cinnamon, the typical fragrance of the holidays, which in the Dolomite town serves to make mulled wine spicy and tasty. The ideal drink to sip to warm up, walking among the wooden houses of the markets (among other things, in Belluno there are different types, depending on the spices used to flavor the hot wine). The ice rink is back again this year in the "good" salon in Belluno. A rectangle always polished to try some evolution, or simply skating with friends, with lights and Christmas music, with the view of two of the most beautiful buildings in the city, the cathedral and Palazzo dei Rettori, of Renaissance architecture. The magic of #NataledelleDolomiti will not only live on the ice rink. It will be widespread. In recent days, more than 180 wooden logs have already arrived in the city: fir and larch logs crashed by the Vaia storm and cleverly reused. They will serve as lantern rests. Because the streets of the center will be illuminated by suggestive lights placed outside shops, bars and clubs. A real light itinerary. Christmas, of course.
The former court, in front of the ice rink, will become a giant screen on which breathtaking images and videos will flow. The absolute novelty of this year will be "Museum of the moon", by Luke Jerram. From 6 to 8 December a 7 meter diameter moon will illuminate the central Piazza Martiri. The artist's creation has already been around the world and reproduces the detailed images of NASA; every centimeter of its surface represents 5 kilometers of the lunar surface. For the little ones, in the three days of the moon, there will be the "Fiaba per Belluno" by the writer Francesco Vidotto.
