If you find yourself wandering around a new and unfamiliar city in the world, you'll probably assume it's cheaper to get from one point to another using the Uber app. As the world's most popular travel services app, it offers competitive rates and user-friendly interface. However, it turns out that it is not always the cheapest option.

In New York, it is cheaper to raise your hand and catch a yellow cab. Compared to Uber, the savings are $ 0.55 per km of travel. In Milan, Italy, the difference between the two options is $ 1.06 per km.

But there are places where the gap is significantly greater. In Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, the Uber app is becoming more and more popular, and it even has a special feature for women drivers, which includes a preference for a passenger or a passenger. However, despite its success, traveling by Uber is more expensive than that of regular taxis. The gap between the two is $ 4.15 per km.

Normal Taxi Priority: Only in 11 cities

All of this data was gathered from a new report published by the tourism company Globehunters. The report's authors looked at taxi and Uber fares, per mile of travel, in the 55 most visited cities in the world. For example, the report shows that even in places such as Lisbon, Porto, Madrid and Seoul - it is cheaper to travel in a standard taxi.
The report found that out of 55 cities, only 11 cities in taxi traffic would be cheaper than Uber. In contrast, in Athens and Istanbul, prices will be the same.

And where would it be cheaper to move in Uber? Examples include Cancun, Mexico ($ 1.64 per mile in Uber vs. Taxi fare), Amsterdam ($ 1.33 / km), Munich ($ 1.16), Toronto ($ 0.94), Sydney ($ 0.54) and Los Angeles Less ($ 0.45).

London will also be cheaper to move with Uber (a $ 1.28 / km gap), though city transport agencies have recently decided not to renew the company's operating license, so that may not be good news for Uber users.
