Jonty B., who was allegedly bumping into a kid from a London museum, pleaded guilty to the attempted murder. Among others, the BBC and the Guardian reported this after hearing a hearing at the Central Criminal Court in the British capital, to which he was video-connected.
The then 17-year-old B. had allegedly attacked the six-year-old boy on the viewing platform on the tenth floor of the Tate Modern Museum on 4 August. As a reason he stated to the police that he wanted to appear in the television news. B. is according to his lawyer Autist, also he has an obsessive-compulsive disorder and probably a personality disorder, writes the "Guardian". The suspect is housed in the psychiatric high-security hospital "Broadmoor Hospital".
The little boy from France, who was vacationing in London with his parents, survived with serious injuries, including a severe brain hemorrhage. His family said that the boy still needs intensive treatment. He could not move all his limbs. He also did not completely regain his cognitive abilities.
