Whoops, he did it again: It's unclear who thought it was a good idea to let Steve Harvey continue to direct the Miss Universe 2019 ceremony last night in Georgia, USA, where South African-born Zuzibini Tunzi won 26, but there's a good chance he regrets it now.

Recall, in 2015, Harvey (62) who led the Miss Universe ceremony that year, found himself the subject of ridicule for a long time, after declaring Colombia's representative as the winner of the ceremony, with the real winner being Miss Philippines.

"Earlier this week, all contestants competed in the national attire category, and here's a look at the Miss Philippines winner," Harvey declared over the stage of the ceremony in Atlanta on Sunday with her photo below. But when the cameras came back to him, the person standing next to him was Miss Malaysia.

"This is not Miss Philippines but Miss Malaysia," he hastened to correct him. Intrigued, Harvey quickly blamed the teleprometer for default. "Let me explain something," he turned to the cameras. "I just read what's on the teleprometer. You have to stop doing that to me. I can read," he said.

"Here, now they're trying to fix it. You see? That's what they did to me in 2015," he said, referring of course to the same famous incident in which he declared the wrong contestant a crown winner. "It's Malaysia. I really like Malaysia's national costume. It's crazy what's going on here," he continued to squirm.

After Miss Malaysia explained the inspiration for her outfit, he added: "What you said, yes. I'm afraid to say your name again because I don't know what the hell this teleprompter is doing. Thank you, Malaysia."

The evening actually got off to a good start for Harvey, who even laughed at the famous joke, noting that despite trying to overthrow it, he stood up strengthened and this is the fifth time he's been the host of the ceremony. "I'm sorry in Colombia, too," he joked. "Well, almost everyone. The cartel there is still shitty."

But wait, that's not the end. The revelry now turned out to be even bigger, after it turned out that the original announcement was actually true in the end, and Miss Philippines is indeed the winner of the national costume category.

A representative from the competition explained that as part of the ceremony, the Malaysia representative's outfit was also presented. She, he said, was unaware that Miss Philippines would be introduced first and so rushed to fix Harvey. For his part he cooperated with her so as not to embarrass, but no mistake was made neither on his part nor on the production side as to the identity of the winner. Confused? We too.
