After about thirty years, a Nokia brand television is about to return to the shelves. To carry it is the Indian e-commerce company Flipkart, which was awarded the license to affix the iconic Finnish brand on a smart TV.
The product in question is a 55-inch connected TV, with Ultra HD resolution and Android operating system.
Sales will start on December 10th but only in India, where the smart TV will cost 42 thousand rupees, more than 500 euros. Flipkart, which has 200 million registered customers on its e-commerce platform, said it plans to launch other Nokia TVs in the future.
The first smart TV branded Nokia arrives thirty years after the old cathode ray tube TVs that the Scandinavian company launched on the market in the 1980s. Since 2017 the well-known brand has also been reported on Nokia's most famous product, the phones, by the company Hmd Global, which has acquired the rights to use the brand on smartphones for ten years.
