(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 10 - In October 2019 it is estimated that the seasonally adjusted industrial production decreased by 0.3% compared to September. According to ISTAT data, in the average quarter of August-October, production shows a fluctuation in the market by 0.6%. Corrected for the effects of the calendar year, the overall index fell by 2.4% in October 2019 (working days were 23, as in October 2018). The seasonally adjusted index increases, marginally, on a short-term basis only for the consumer goods (+ 0.3%); instead energy (-1.9%) and benestrumentals (-0.8%) decreased while intermediate goods were stable.
According to Istat, on a trend basis and net of calendar effects, in October 2019 there was a moderate growth exclusively for the consumer goods sector (+ 0.5%); on the other hand, marked decreases characterize intermediate goods (-4.8%) and capital goods (-3.4%), while the change is zero.
