Ukraine, commitment to ceasefire

(ANSA) - PARIS, DECEMBER 10 - Russia and Ukraine are committed to a full implementation of the ceasefire by 2019: these are one of the key points contained in the joint declaration issued at the end of the summit of the Normandy format (Russia, Ukraine, France and Germany) on the 'Ukraine in Paris. The signatories say they are "in favor of three additional disengagement zones, with the aim of proceeding with the disengagement of the forces and equipment by the end of March 2020". The Quartet also calls on the "contact group to facilitate the liberation and exchange of prisoners by the end of the year". Russia, President Vladimir Putin said, "will do everything possible" to resolve the crisis in Ukraine and the Paris summit of the Normandy format was "really useful" but it is necessary that the Ukrainian constitution be modified to allow the creation of the special status for the Donbass .
